Unrelated to this post, but Wordpress made the decision that the admin theme that I used to use, Sakura, is getting retired, which I had picked prior to their decision because it's pink and had a Japanese name, which I felt was the perfect aesthetic for me looking at my site. Update: ugh, I feel worse compared to yesterday. Don't know if this will have any impacts on my writeups when it comes to what time they come out, but it may impact how long my writeups may end up being. As if they weren't short enough already. Before I even get into the plot of the episode, I'd like to discuss how this episode felt like the worst integration of CGI -- assuming it's CGI and not a technology that I dislike but refrain from making accusations about the usage of because I personally don't feel qualified enough to make these kinds of accusations -- because the building crashes we see in the fight between Vordin and Clevatess felt way too realistic compared to what we've seen in the series prior to this point.

Ugh, I'm not feeling my best at the moment. Not only am I in that time of the month for me (though I've got it handled as of my previous simulcast writeup, as my cramps don't feel as bad compared to when I was doing my writeup that goes live on Thursdays), but I feel like I'm starting to come down with something.

Yes, I know that the image I'm using is the same one that I made for last year's post, but since I'm going to be a bit more chill on content this anime season, I figured that I shouldn't take the effort to make a new drawing for the post if I feel like the plans that I'm announcing don't really feel like they equate to needing a new image.

Hey! I know that at the time this post is going up, you would usually get a Meitantei Precure writeup! However, because of issues that are literally outside of my control, I have made the decision to permanently move my Meitantei Precure writeups by 24 hours. Now, what could possibly be causing me to need to move these writeups?

Ughhh, I know that my seasonal simulcast writeups have been shit as of late (which I do have a plan to combat starting next season), but this one's probably going to be more shit than usual. Sorry, it's just that at the time I'm writing this, I'm in that time of the month that people with a uterus experience, so if something that I originally would've just glossed over or hand-waved away is something that I get worked up over here, then my apologies.

Did Detective Conan instill a desire to play soccer, no matter how temporary, in anyone else when they first saw it, or was that just a quirk that 11 year old me picked up while watching? No, literally, I remember that in middle school I would get excited whenever it was my class's turn to do the soccer unit in PE, because then I had the chance to be like Conan.

...okay, so I was off last week with this episode title by two words. But hey, at least I still got the basic parts down, so it's not like I misremembered the entire title. Hell, "The Cat and the Festival" would still be a perfectly serviceable title. Not as specific as the actual title, but still an episode title that would feel right at home in this series.

"Oh wow, I can't wait to watch my simulcast of Meitantei Precure today!" I said with excitement on September 12th, opening the episode page basically the instant it went live, as I have done for this series every week before. "Screw you," said the simulcast page, throwing me a KAT-3002 error because it didn't have the other detective show that I like to watch to interrupt due to it airing a rerun* episode in Japan, which never** gets simulcast on Crunchyroll.

I don't know if it's because of how much effort I put into my previous post compared to usual or what, but I'm struggling to come up with a good way to lead into this post. This is probably going to be an issue for the remainder of the Summer 2026 anime season. Ah, the trials and tribulations of covering a series you're really passionate about on the day before covering a series that I thought was peak at first only for it to end up being more middling at this point in the series.

I was then crushed with the realization that my last Sara Watches Detective Conan post was made on Valentine's Day. Look, I'm sorry, I've been busy with other stuff that I've had the motivation to make. However, I think I've found a good way to be able to balance those things with this.

While one could argue that the title already discusses what I'm calling a spoiler, this classification is just to be on the safe side. I was considering whether this should be a content warning for the actual contents of the ending or if I should just mark it as a plain old spoiler warning.

I'm not even going to add the spoiler warning that I usually add with these episodes, mainly because I feel like I've been a bit too frequent with those in this series as of late. Besides, the thing about this episode that I want to talk about was already revealed in the title, so even if the context isn't fully there, I still think that if you put the pieces together yourself with the context that once a new cure gets introduced they need a handful of episodes where they have the spotlight, you can figure it out on your own.

Look, I know that you probably didn't expect a delay on this post, but since one of my simulcast had issues (the earliest of my simulcasts and the only one of those that I don't do standard simulcast writeups for), I decided to do a delay just to give Crunchyroll time to fix it and give them some grace time in case my other simulcasts were having that issue.
