NEW QUIZ THING

In an alternative universe, there can only be one band per letter of the alphabet. The band's name starts with that letter ("The" can be ignored, or not). So, it's a dystopia, for sure. Luckily, YOU get to decide WHICH band goes with WHICH letter, and is allowed to exist. Ready? Go!

Stood next to Keanu Reeves in the crowd at Superchunk, CBGBs, 1993, and made him laugh when I shouted something dumb (requested a Pavement song)
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

In my 20s (the 1980s-early 90s) I re-read James Ellroy's LA trilogy/quartet/quintet (Black Dahlia/Big Nowhere/LA Confidential/White Jazz/American Tabloid) every couple of years. Not sure how they hold up, but these are all deeply cynical books
Novels to re-read every decade or so, because you see something new and more insightful in them each time as you get older. The Austen canon certainly. Middlemarch. Anna Karenina. War and Peace. Crime and Punishment. Bleak House. Other suggestions?
How true. Currently re reading the Jane Austen canon for first time since my teens. Utterly different experience. Richer, funnier, even more insightful

Rolling Stones JFK Stadium 1978: 90,000 people, took way too much speedy acid, 16 years old, basically terrifying on the field so we found seats way up top and the sound was so bad you couldn’t even tell what song they were playing. I was a HUGE fan then, too, and it’s the only time I ever saw them
