@smartless.bsky.social great interview with Jennifer Lopez. Thanks for mentioning “Out of Sight.” I hope she goes back to movies like that.

@joycecaroloates.bsky.social I just re-read your short story “The Frenzy.” It’s a marvel. Perhaps my favorite aspect (as a writer): every detail is seamlessly presented, interwoven into the story, and yet, at the end, every detail has served a purpose, is a necessary step to the ending.

During lockdown my husband built the kids a little picnic table and me an outdoor loveseat so we could hang out in our backyard more comfortably. Build! Some! Tables!

Uber needs to have a button to cancel a ride in the specific situation when you’re heading to your driver and the trip has suddenly started without you because the driver picked up the wrong passenger and neither one of them bothered verifying. Just happened.

@hiddenbrain.bsky.social I’m listening to the show on turning around a downward spiral. You ask listeners to send in stories; subject line: “failure.” OMG. You just made it harder for listeners. Better: “reversing the negative spiral” or “challenging failure.” Something not so utterly downbeat.

Can someone be please stop the president from further demolition/construction on the White House? He doesn’t own the place. Doesn’t even pay rent. How is this legal? Would anyone like to start a lawsuit? One thing is clear: asking him to stop isn’t working.

@rufus-hickok.bsky.social “Too Late to Call” is turning into a Banquo’s ghost of a song, constantly popping up, then morphing into something like “Goodbye to You” or, most recently, Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark.” I oughta play it for my guitarist autistic son, who spots similarities in music.

@mluckovich.bsky.social I had a clever answer—A, because it appeals to our increasing violent streak plus suggested the question of how animals without opposable thumbs could carry arms. Then you deleted it. Well, you have my opinion, and that’s what counts.
