The Congo land eagle
The Congo land eagle is a flightless eagle species native to the Congo Savannah. These animals are some of the top predators of the region, with powerful beaks and massive sickle claw. They will occasionally form packs to hunt larger prey but tend to split up after a hunt. They also often hunt near fires and catch smaller animals fleeing the flames.

The titan river mussel
The titan river mussel is a bivalve endemic to the Northern Indian Grassland and surrounding rivers. Due to the area's massive algal booms, these mussels are able to grow to up to a meter and a half in diameter. They are sessile for most of their life, burying themselves into the sediment and filter feeding. They also use fish to spread their offspring. Their larvae have a special glue-like substance that surrounds them when they are first born, which allows them to attach to fish.

The central trunk-boar for the Novicene Project
The central trunk-boar is a pig species native to Great Australian Plain. These odd pigs fill a niche similar to their ancestors, but are more herbivorous. They often feed on twigs, shoots, fruits, and leaves. They will occasionally scavenge on carrion as well.

The Upper Elliot Formation from the early Jurassic of South Africa is an important piece for our understanding of sauropod evolution but beyond that it's just a really cool assemblage...

The African manticore in Novicene Africa
The African manticore is a baboon species native to the Congo Savannah. These weird monkeys are some of the top predators of Africa. They live in large mobs of 30 individuals. These groups are male dominated, with one male controlling a group of females. Although males dominant a group, many males are often forced out of their groups when they reach maturity.
