Oh wow, Xcode 27.2 has a new project file format (xcproj) that is standard JSON, and an open format:

I've been waiting for something like this for most of my career! 🎉
GitHub - apple/xcode-project-format: A Swift library for reading, writing, and manipulating Xcode's JSON-based project.xcproj format.

GitHub still does not have Xcode 27 RC deployed to macOS runners, so despite my best efforts my app will not be ready for iOS 27 tomorrow. It is an honor to pay 10x the price of Linux runners for this world-class experience.

For the last 2 years I have been tracking a generational change in the nature of software development, and I think I've finally decided where all of this turmoil is going to end up. It's good news, but not for everybody. https://seldo.com/posts/we-are-all-product-engineers-now/
We are all Product Engineers now | Seldo.com
Agents are eating the software development lifecycle from the bottom up — code generation already gone, review and ops following fast. What remains is figuring out what people actually want, which can't be automated or scaled. That job is called product engineering, it pays $240k, and nobody's training for it.

GPT-6 Astra saturated ARC-AGI-3, scoring 99.9% on a benchmark designed to test whether AI can learn how to solve unfamiliar interactive problems.

The notable part is the same model scored 62.7% with the standard harness.

A great example of how the harness increasingly matters as much as the model

You've probably heard by now that SwiftUI has a fancy @‌State macro that lazily creates state, fixing a longstanding issue in the framework.

But what you may not know is that the laziness only kicks in for **private** state.

Pro tip for folks working with Apple documentation: add ".md" to the end of a URL to get it as Markdown – much lighter to load, and also friendlier for agents. Example: developer.apple.com/documentatio...

Apple only took 24 hours to approve my iOS app update that crashed instantly on launch. Such a blessing to have that extra level of reliability and security that only a manual review process can provide 🙏

wild stuff, they basically said "solve this 30-year-old math problem, make no mistakes"
Here are 58 words of prompts to GPT-5.6 Pro that got the model to discover that the long-standing Dinitz-Garg-Goemans conjecture is false.

Increasingly, prompt crafting is over-rated, ask for what you want. (Which itself can be a hard problem)

Nearly everyone I see online complaining about passkeys is a 1Password user. The Apple Passwords experience is so, so much smoother.

At least, for now. The 1Password folks are working on integrating into macOS more smoothly and natively. Browser extensions for credential management are a miss.
I haven’t put much effort into it, but I suspect it has to do with how sites handle failures/retries. 1password browser extension is often locked. Passkey fails first time, hopeless confusion/failure ensues.

All I really know is: it doesn’t work, and I’m sick of fighting it.
