It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

We LITERALLY broke Germany into two separate countries. We, quite literally, said, "Nah, you shouldn't exist anymore." And when reunification happened there was a not-insignificant amount of push back against it.

WW2 is an instructive analogy. Germany committed genocide but it was rare to hear Americans say Germany should not exist. Arguably the Japanese military carried out genocidal campaigns on the continent and it was common to hear American exterminationist talk about Japanese. What was the difference?
