From someone's suggestion (I forget who it was I'm sorry!!), I added desire paths!
If a tile is walked over enough times in a day, a path will spawn. This leads to very organic looking paths that are also heavily used!

Working on a change to the way structure unlocks are handled. Now, there is a research system with branching options that unlock using influence. Been testing it and it feels pretty good! Here's a basic tree from the demo version.
