Hi new followers! I do research on (oldschool symbolic) AI for interactive stories that need to rewrite themselves as you play. We use them for games and training simulations.
My mom recorded a poorly animated Richard Scarry TV special where a wolf breaks into a house and kidnaps some kids, and that shit was Richard Scary AF.
In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

On the bright side, this might make using AI so embarrassing that the military will stop.
Trump tells the UN he is officially changing the name of Artificial Intelligence to "Super Intelligence" and says all US government documents will now be changed to refer to "SI"

Nighthawks is OUT!

When the sun sets, outcasts rise. Gather new friends, face old prejudices, and prepare to seize the night in Nighthawks, the vampire RPG where the secret is out... but the hunt continues.

I know @cwtycho.penny-arcade.com didn't write the phrase "from whence." It was extracted from him, unwilling. "We require more Vespene Gas," they hissed as they took it.

Firing the 10 guys that prevented lettuce from giving everyone diarrhea was a bad idea, in retrospect. But to be fair at the time nobody knew if lettuce giving everyone diarrhea would be a good thing or a bad thing

Somebody set out to prove that there actually ARE bad ideas in brainstorming...
Netflix has announced a new reality series titled ‘THE NEW STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT’.

The series follows 30 participants who enter a real prison and are randomly assigned as guards or prisoners. They must see if they conform to the roles or if morality wins.

In my opinion Democrats get nothing nothing NOTHING by betraying trans people. They hurt themselves with a good deal of their committed voter base, and still don’t get the Republican votes they are so fucking obsessed with winning over. Lose-lose!

People hate voting for squishy moral cowards!!

LLMs are not dangerous because of AGI or it becoming Skynet or anything like that, it won't and cannot.
It is dangerous because people in power don't understand what it is, they believe the Silicon Valley press releases. They are going to use it in deeply stupid ways.
This is the actual danger.

What would you put on the Mount Rushmore of all time Tweets?

(Mount Rushmore means 4. Do not be a coward and hedge by saying more than 4. Make a decision. (Less than 4 is fine though))

Stack Overflow was so great for 5 years because people would just answer your questions.

Tried to use it yesterday, and I was reminded why AI is killing it so completely. The only thing it seems to be able to offer is the kind of annoying pedantry that AI agents are instructed to avoid.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has the constitutional authority to temporarily appoint someone to fill Mitch McConnell’s seat. If GOP lawmakers want to challenge that, they can do so.

This will be the first big test to see whether Beshear really is presidential material. I hope he passes the test.

Think about a star student from another country. Intellect off the chart who wants to get a masters in computer science, and paying out of state tuition subsidizing American born students who pay a cheaper rate.

And we are saying, no. Stabbing ourselves in the foot to do a racism.
The Trump administration is scrapping a policy that has allowed international students and exchange visitors to remain in the US for as long as their studies last, replacing it with a four-year limit. Read more: bloom.bg/4fib1sh
