I just really really *really* think you should not be white, go to a majority nonwhite country and then not be prepared to put an earnest attempt into learning their language. And by earnest I mean accepting struggle with it and not having a total breakdown if it's difficult.

Speaking of dogs, we actually saw two dogs doing some gay humping during our mahjong club meeting last night. They both wanted to smell my phone.

Think some lady around my neighborhood was mad at me for feeding a barrio dog a treat. I don't care, I genuinely want that dog to be happy for a bit in his day- he looks forward to that treat.

Getting really tired of begging accounts here that are clearly bots/AI spam. Get about two-three a week currently. Can tell just by looking at the posts and how they randomly follow folks.

My wife has opinions on Lara, ones thankfully I agree with. (She likes the ending, I agree with her because I kinda see the show as a deconstruction of 80s shoujo)

Today I get to see if I can get 4 folks to show up to a Mahjong club here. Starting with a slightly modified variant of Zung Jung. At least I now know how to get a basic set that has everything needed for around $50. The Trans color set I got yesterday will be $85-105 here, depending on Prime.

I wish I had a good box for these tiles though, and I will likely need a mat as well if things expand into needing 3 sets. Either that or the cheaper sets will be given as gifts to spread things.

Got tiles in for tomorrow's club. So lucky that this set is as thick as Chinese tiles. Won't need racks.

so much fighting game pessimism right now feels downstream of fighting game content creation/esports going belly up. its understandable that streamers are getting sad their numbers are dropping but i feel like people dont realize that they're getting sad for streamers rather than for themselves

this feels like a symptom of people getting their opinions from content creators. influencers get upset when characters arent being released fast enough because how much fresh new stuff is happening to the game affects their bottom line. people dont understand that shit doesnt apply to them

Realizing pretty soon we're going to have to source HRT here. Thankfully we've got a source for pills, but hoping we can find gel or spray. Pharmacies can be inconsistent here, but I know we can get what we need.

For those who play riichi/Chinese variants of mahjong where you don't use racks, is it frowned upon to not have your tiles all stacked up in one group of 13?
