POSTCARDS FOR DEMOCRACY!
Local races are often decided by a few hundred votes. A handwritten card from a neighbor can make the difference. It doesn't matter what district you live in; Metro Council makes decisions for our city, so we need them all to be great.
Sun, Oct. 4, 1 pm, Locals Pizza Hub

Wednesday, it didn't matter that it was hot.
We spent rush hour putting our message in front of hundreds of cars. This is what standing up looks like: impossible to ignore.
Join us Sun, Oct 4 at 1 pm at Locals to write postcards in support of McCraney and Hettiaratchi's Metro Council campaigns.

What happens when a data center moves into your community?
A report from the University of Michigan’s Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program shows that when big tech comes to town, local communities get left holding the bag.

New Sharp Objects newsletter is out — and it covers so much: Americans being detained, Marc Elias winning in court, Liz Oyer on Trump's fake emergencies, AND a Louisville canvassing opportunity on Sept 13.
A lot is wrong. Here's what we can do about it.

Metro Council voted NO to a crucial one-year pause on new data centers. Instead of taking a year to protect our community, they approved a compressed six-month pause. Six months isn’t enough time to get this right. And we can’t let them waste a single day.

Voting for Democrats in November is the only way to stop the Republican assault on older Americans and hold the GOP accountable. A healthy democracy must protect the economic security of its seniors. But reckless Republican policies are weakening programs older Americans worked decades to earn.

Calling All Louisville Veterans & Democracy Defenders! Are you ready to lock arms and protect our democratic values right here in Kentucky?

ICE isn't something that just happens in other cities. It's happening in our city, to our neighbors. On 7/22/26, local nursing studen Sarafinah Bukirwa, who has sickle cell anemia, was detained by ICE at the Louisville airport. Her detention came just one day after she was hospitalized.

Mayor Greenberg must not trust Louisvillians. Shameka Parrish-Wright does. When it comes to the Flock surveillance cameras, Greenberg thinks you shouldn't know where they are. Meanwhile, Shameka demanded transparency. She wants camera locations published online like they do in Lexington, KY.

Veteran Arturo Quiñonez Solis was deported yesterday. He had open heart surgery in June, but ICE denied him his medications and put him on a plane. Join the League of Women Voters today for a vigil at 5 pm at Big Four Bridge for Lorenzo Araujo and Johan Guerrero, who were killed by ICE last week.

FRIDAY! Bridge Brigade 5-6 pm
Message: JUSTICE FOR ICE VICTIMS
Seneca Park I-64 Overpass
This is for every person who has lost their life in detention, at the border, or at the hands of ICE and an administration that has made cruelty its policy.
Their lives mattered. We will not look away.

Are we too comfortable to save our own democracy?⁣ "I wonder if the United States has the wherewithal to prevent ourselves from falling into a dictatorship; if we’re really made of the stuff our forebears were.⁣" John Pavlovitz

We demand real transparency!

ANOTHER DAY. ANOTHER ICE KILLING. Our outrage is boiling over. Joan Sebastian Guerrero, the 26-year old man shot and killed by ICE was fully authorized to work in the US and had a legally issued SSN. He had no criminal history. He was executed in front of his partner and his daughter.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo woke up at 5 a.m. and went to build homes for other families. He had NO criminal record. His own son, Ronaldo Salgado: “I recognized him immediately, not from his appearance but from his voice crying for help as he lay on the street bleeding out.”

Watch this deeply inspiring message from Mamdani. He reminds us that the power to define America belongs to all of us - not just a select few - and inclusion and progress will always overcome the politics of division.

At Wednesday's Bridge Brigade, our crew was unapologetically proud in support of every woman's right to choose.
NOT YOUR UTERUS. NOT YOUR CHOICE.
Together we're making noise and making it clear: reproductive freedom is non-negotiable.
Thank you to everyone who stood on that bridge with us.

Yesterday, SCOTUS greenlit the deportation of 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians who have been living and working legally in this country.
These are people who came here because America promised safety. That promise was shredded yesterday.
This isn't border policy. This is cruelty with a gavel.
