Almost halfway through July, and was thinking back on the games I've played this year. Decided to make a quick top of the first half.

Most of the Control Resonant reviews do not read like this is an 8 to 8.5 out of 10 game.

As far as board games go, I'm a big fan of the Ian O'Toole aesthetic (and it helps that he's tied to a lot of heavy Euros that I love)... but man, Old King's Crown is a game I'm happy I own for the art alone. Absolutely beautiful game.

I don't care about physical media, but everything else surrounding Playstation, paired with just having less time to use the system, as impacted my enthusiasm about buying stuff there.
Maybe if Sony made a game I was actually excited to play, and didn't keep harpooning themselves with GaaS shit.

Coming into the Fall, I'd preordered a bunch of stuff because I either had PSN Wallet credit or trade credit at the local shop... and it's pretty likely I'm going to cancel almost everything because FE is too long, and GTA6 is coming.
PS5 is taking most of the hit here.

I've never had an issue with monetized cosmetics. I wasn't mad about horse armour, or any of that stuff.
I think we have reached a point where pubs are trying a bit to hard to EXTRACT VALUE from their consumers, because a lot of this stuff is worse than it was 10yrs ago, and pricier.

DLSS is doing heavy lifting so it's a little ugly.
The LCD screen is too dark.
Talent trees are partially broken (can't spec LoH talents).
40fps mode does not hold when there's a lot going on.
