A reminder to Portland bike folks: there are probably going to be lots of new folks commuting by bike over the next few weeks. This is a good thing, even if they don’t know all the (very undefined) local bike etiquette
opb.org OPB @opb.org · 27d
The Portland area commute turns upside down on Sept. 11 as the state closes parts of I-5 for repairs, sending trucks and cars on alternative routes. Authorities are trying all kinds of tricks to make it as painless as possible, but freight haulers and commuters are bracing for major delays.
Authorities try to avoid ‘carmageddon’ during 5-week closure of I-5 southbound
ODOT hopes to be able to get everything done in five weeks, but it depends on the weather. Things like pouring concrete, striping roads and laying tarmac don’t do well in the rain.

Our household is SO THRILLED that Knuckles Noodle's work will be featured on a road near the Holgate Library! This program is the best, and we've always loved seeing all the custom sharrows on our rides. Can't wait for next year's @shift2bikes.bsky.social Art in the Bike Lane ride! 😍🚲🎨
The 2026 Bike to Books winners have been chosen! Next spring, you'll find them on a bike lane near the artist's local library branch!

Last night I heard a loud bike ride going by my house. I let my kids finish putting themselves to bed and hustled out the door to join it.

It turned out to be the Thursday night ride

There was also a lunar eclipse at the exact same time.

It was epic! Portland does not disappoint
