Offshore wind has high coincidence with winter peaks, which makes it an extremely valuable resource. Plus, it is located right near New York City and Long Island, the major load centers in New York State. New York can no longer afford to rely on gas. bit.ly/4u9n0Pb @governor.ny.gov
Gollon: Offshore wind will keep Long Island utility bills stable
Offshore wind projects like Empire Wind and Sunrise Wind will help stabilize utility bills on Long Island by providing affordable, fixed-price electricity.

Renewable energy is the most practical way to reduce the rising costs and risks of climate change — while creating jobs and stabilizing energy prices. We must protect the Climate Law and keep moving forward as a state. #ClimateActionNow

Renewable energy is the most practical way to cut climate costs and risks while creating jobs and stabilizing energy prices for New Yorkers.

Solar and wind with storage are now the cheapest power sources globally beating gas, oil, coal, and nuclear.

Factors abroad affect our domestic energy prices & highlights a weakness in our current system. Homegrown renewables are not subject to these types of vulnerability. @governor.ny.gov

We are the CLCPA lawsuit plaintiffs. Hochul is misrepresenting our case.
"With fossil fuel prices skyrocketing & NYers struggling to pay their utility bills & fill up their cars, implementing a program that raises revenue...would promote affordability, not hinder it."

Renewables have no fuel costs, and are procured using long-term contracts. They help stabilize electricity costs.

Fossil fuel prices are volatile and susceptible to price spikes caused by global market changes. Sticking to fossil fuels means unpredictable, unaffordable bills for NY.

South Fork Wind Farm’s first year shows renewable solutions work.
💡Reliable power over 92% of the time
🔌 Costs about $1.58/month for typical households
Solutions like this help shield New Yorkers from gas price spikes and offer renewable energy with stable prices. @governor.ny.gov

The NY Climate Law is not causing current high prices for energy and gutting it will not alleviate the problem. The Sierra Club and advocates are clear there is a workable path forward to climate success and affordability. #ClimateActionNow @governor.ny.gov bit.ly/4uFaqrs

After you flooded their offices with calls and emails, House Republicans ditched a provision in Trump's dirty and dangerous budget bill that would have sold off hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands in Nevada and Utah to help pay for billionaire tax breaks.
