I made a South Jersey feed, because the Philly feed is nice but Philadelphians will be quick to tell you that just because I can see the Linc from my neighborhood, and it's closer to City Hall than Chestnut Hill is, doesn't mean it's a Philadelphia suburb: bsky.app/profile/did:...

When you order your Snail Facts calendar, there is a thingy to also make a donation. Do that, tell me you've done that, and I will send you the slug (slugs is snails!).

Not sure how practical shipping a slug and an 11x14 calendar is together but if you want I can try to make it happen?

Alexander* is yours for the low, low price of sponsoring four matches between a scientist and a classroom full of kids.

* and the satisfaction of having facilitated four matches. Also, four different matches, not the same classroom four times. Unless you want? Sarah could probably arrange it. 🤷

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse:

We got some wireless intercoms that are really just walkie talkies with an intercom form factor, which is gonna result in the Gen X members of the household going full 1970’s CB Slang.

Just read that PA lege is likely to legalize marijuana depending on election results and was like... it's not already? Center City sure always smells like it's legal!

are you all following this business with the flydubai flight where the first officer stabbed the captain, dived the plane so fast it tore the rudder off, was subdued by the passengers after somebody got the door open, and then two off duty pilots landed the plane*

Started listening to a Discworld novel that mentions “the Ninja Morrismen of New Ankh” and I immediately heard Alex Trebek’s voice go “Bizarre little men, you’re still in control of the board.”

I guess the bar for success now is "no debris hit any passenger flights."
So let me get this right... SpaceX's "successful" orbital launch of Starship lost an engine in flight, was cut from a planned six orbits to two (and SpaceX isn't saying why), neither part is reusable, and the top part blew up on splashdown.

Bonus Kid's birth family had a death so all his cousins and whatnot have gathered at his grandmother's, so I did the usual "bring a plate of meats and cheese and lunchmeats so people can graze because nobody has an appetite" and we rolled up to the house and the porch was a haze of weed smoke.

The funniest outcome today would be that the Phillies lose and the Diamondbacks also lose, and the Phillies fall headfirst into the playoffs like an intoxicated teenager passing out in the bushes, and they start a playoff series with the support of a fully irate fan base.

A benefit of CPAPs that nobody tells you about is: you know when you have gotten a haircut that day and are still smelling the hairspray the stylist put on to keep your hair from frizzing? CPAP intake is far enough away you can't smell it anymore.

They should mention it, it's a good selling point.
