Spotify SINK sustainability score: 58/100

~98% of its footprint isn’t Spotify at all. It’s cloud, ads and marketing (Scope 3).

Emissions fell 31% in 2024 as users grew 10%. That’s real decoupling.

Weak spot is water: 3/10.
September 22, 2026 at 7:20 PM
Boohoo (now Debenhams Group) told investors last week its marketplace pivot is working: less stock on its own books.

That doesn’t cut the carbon. 97% of its footprint is still in the supply chain (and air freight isn’t counted).

SINK sustainability score: 18/100

Ben & Jerry’s sustainability score: 41/100.

The founders are at war with Magnum over the “social mission.” Ben wants the brand back.

Emissions rose 3% and the 2025 climate target slipped to 2035.

Still top of the 8 dairy brands we’ve scored so far.

Who should we score next?

Maersk ordered 26 giant container ships today.

They run on gas.

They arrive in 2030.

Ships last ~25 years.

Maersk promised net zero by 2040.

Rivian’s 2026 guide is now 65–70k with R2 ramping. That’s the growth story.

SINK sustainability score: 34/100.

Absolute emissions rose with volume; Scope 3 once jumped ~108% as production scaled.

Reporting well isn't the same as decarbonising.

Games Workshop's AGM was today. Record year — £660m revenue.

The sustainability numbers tell a different story.

Scope 1+2: down 69%. Target smashed six years early.
Scope 3: 93% of the footprint, still rising, no target at all.

Cleaning up the factory is the easy part.

41/100.

Shailene Woodley's Emmys look got the internet arguing about Balenciaga all day.

Balenciaga's sustainability score: 32/100. Same as Zara. Zero brand-level emissions data.

The outfit is debatable. The disclosure isn't.

Anthropic and OpenAI just agreed to independent evaluators inside the labs.

For model safety.

On the environment they disclose almost nothing.

Sustainability scores:
Anthropic 31/100
OpenAI 25/100

No emissions data, no energy mix, no targets.

Same method as everyone else.

Man City: 56/100 (2nd of 20)
Man Utd: 25/100 (17th of 20)

Most viewed on SINK today:

TK Maxx: 42/100

They sell what other brands couldn't shift. Bargains for us. A safety net for an industry that makes too much.

Apple's first foldable: $1,999.

93 kg of carbon over its life.

The 18 Pro: 63 kg. And it uses less recycled material, not more. Apple put the numbers out. That's rare.

The numbers still say the same thing: Two screens and a hinge weigh more on the planet than the price tag suggests.

People are checking airline apps for the wrong reason today.

We've scored 23 airlines on sustainability, using the same public method as every other company.

Airline average: 24/100
All companies: 38/100

Lowest: Qatar Airways, 18

Not one reaches "making progress."

Nike drops out of the S&P 100 for the first time in 18 years.

SINK Score: 39/100. Below expectations. 96% renewable in its own ops. Almost all Nike’s footprint is Scope 3.

More tech stocks are taking the empty seat.

The index got a lighter sector. Not a greener company.

FTSE 100 reshuffle lands 21 September.

Out: Persimmon — 34/100 on SINK. Below expectations.

In: easyJet — 25/100. Significant gaps, mid-pack for an airline.

FTSE ranks market cap. We rank emissions.

Different leagues. Different tables.

Manchester United’s carbon footprint is a photograph.

A scan. No searchable text. Nothing a screen reader can speak.

We scored all 20 Premier League clubs on the environmental evidence anyone can actually check.

Five publish numbers you can read. Fifteen don’t.

Surprise leader of our retail table:
Tiffany & Co. — 52/100

Absolute emissions down 33% since 2019.

91% renewable electricity.
First luxury jeweler with an SBTi-validated net-zero target.
And the product is built to last generations. That counts.

Sainsbury’s just sold Argos for £120m — nine years after buying it in a £1.4bn deal.

Argos scores 47/100 on sustainability. Every point rests on Sainsbury’s climate programme. Argos itself discloses nothing.

What happens to a borrowed score when the parent leaves?

80% of a phone’s carbon footprint happens before you switch it on.
Manufacturing, not charging.

Keep it 5 years instead of 3 → annual footprint drops 31%.

Seven years → 44%.

@fairphone.com builds phones to be repaired, not replaced.

Three days before the ASA banned a Eurowings ad for implying a flight’s emissions could be offset, we scored Europe’s 20 biggest airlines.
