Haven't mentioned it here yet, but I started writing a fanfiction work for the first time 3 and a half months ago, and it opened my eyes to what I can achieve as a writer.
I had inspiration, life to draw from, loc friends to cheer me on, and now I'm 25k words and 9 chapters in

Singable TL for the Kamiina Botan OP
The lyrics are brimming with the sheer strength of yearning in the series. Expressing them was a treat. Dozens of watches later, the hallway cut still stirs something in me

It's Shimamura's birthday!
I did an adashima pilgrimage around Gifu just last month. Walked along the Nagara river listening to the audiobook. Never felt closer to a work in my life.

Oh yeah! I recently finished Regarding Saeki Sayaka. Honestly I read Bloom Into You (yagakimi) specifically to get to these spin off novels by Iruma.
Vol 1 was great. The portrait of a girl whose gay panic upended her entire way of life.

It breaks my heart that subpar fanTLs are enshrined in certain fandoms over some of the best official work in the business.
But the opposite sucks as well. Most high-quality fansubs these days are only watched by other fansubbers and are shunned by casual viewers.

Just wanted to say thanks to the freelancers at crunchyroll who fought the tides and gave blood, sweat, and tears over the years to give us high-quality typesetting. I doubt they got paid a cent more for the effort.
Those efforts shouldn't have to go to waste.

A ton of research and effort went into this one. This is the article to read to get to the bottom of Crunchyroll's subtitle changes!
Replies here will show up as comments (eventually)

Crunchyroll is destroying its subtitles for no good reason | Daiz.moe
With the Fall 2025 anime season, Crunchyroll demonstrates zero respect for anime as a medium as the presentation quality of its subtitles reach an all-time low.

And that's a wrap on the first book I've ever read in Japanese! Shuukura vol 7
I've thought about 週くら lots and lots, but my favorite aspect of the series is the way the characters manage to turn their desperation into happy memories. I'll remember this volume forever and always

Read the first chapter of AdaShima SS2 in Japanese with my newfound dictionary-diving powers, and it turned me into a sobbing mess. Then went back to the end of 99.9 in English, which didn't hit me too hard the first time, but this time it totally took me out.

Ok, didn't expect Shuukura to get to me just as hard as Adashima did. Read for 16 hours straight

Hayasaki no Kuroyuri is one of the most important visual novels ever made. it's about queer young adults being oppressed by the adult heteronormative world and overcoming it.

Crazy that the most boring chapters of Adashima were the ones that changed my perspective on relationships.
2 side characters take a little trip away from home to go fishing and throw a boomerang for the first time. Like what? Iruma's vision is just that powerful

Thank you @verdelish.jp and Nibedita for your work, truly. I'm glad I was alive to experience this

I needed extra time to gather my thoughts before saying anything, but I was one of the undebuted VShojo talents who passed the audition last year.
