Is it a controversial opinion when I say I dont really give a shit when people use their bikes or scooters on the sidewalk suburbs with no bike lanes? Those sidewalks are barely used anyway and as long as they yield to walkers, I dont really care.

I think the lowest daily fare that anyone can buy is a Day Pass. Make it $6 for unlimited Metra/Pace/CTA. If you tap without a pass, it automatically buys you a $6 pass. Do away with the "per trip" fare

My "one fare, one system" idea.
1. Eliminate all "per ride" options and only have Passes. Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
2. The passes would work across all systems.
3. I would have the day pass be $6. The minute that you tap, you are charged $6, and it will stay active for the next 24 hours.

I think setting up Divvy in Joliet, Naperville, Aurora, and Elgin should be the priority over just expanding it further out into the Cook County suburbs. I think those cities are uniquely positioned for Divvy

I think we should remove the requirement that Chicago cops have to live in the city. I think the city would be better off if they weren't a voting base.

You know what would be fun? If someone did like a YouTube series where they review dining/restaurants that are within a 10 minute walk of a Metra stop. Every episode can focus on a new Metra stop. That would go a long way to really hammer home the idea of the "Chicagoland Region"
What good transit does is simultaneously make a region bigger (increases the number of places you can easily get to without dragging a car along) and smaller (takes less time to make trips between wherever and wherever).
Fast and frequent transit is what we need to finally unlock Chicagoland.

I think if your capital gains/investment income/passive income is more than you earn in wages and you're under age 59.5, you should have that extra income taxed at like.... 75%.
So if you earn $100k in wages, but $150k in investments, that $50k should be taxed at 75%

I think all public high schools in Cook and surrounding counties should be required to have a "Transit Education" component in all Driver's Ed classes. Teach them how to use the Pace, Metra, and CTA system.
