This was the first ever Garfield comic strip. Now, I certainly have not read every single Garfield comic. But did it ever come up again that Jon was a cartoonist? Like, somehow even casual fans of the strip know that he’s a cartoonist, but was that ever actually relevant to a plot? To a punchline?

It’s a stretch to call this a “story” and it’s heavily edited from what I first wrote (it was way too long and complex) but it’s a sequence of events in Batman’s life and it’s published and I sort of wrote it. And I’m proud of that.

One of my pet peeves in scripted fiction is characters addressing their siblings as “sis” or “bro” for the purposes of clumsy exposition.
For one thing, I don’t think anybody ever really called their sister “sis.” And for another, everybody calls everybody bro now.
