Regarding Trump‘s use of the term communist as an insult. The Iron Curtain fell in 1989-1990 … So the remaining people for whom that is viscerally scary are over 50. If you are younger than 50, it is no more insulting than being called a Jacobite or a “sans-culottes”. 🙄

Za’atar-flavored veggie sandwiches (veggies are onions - sweated until darkened - roasted zucchini, and roasted orange bell peppers) with za’atar infused mayo and pepper jam. Interesting mix of flavors. Lunch with dad and Terry, made by me.

Thanks Xcel for turning the power off RIGHT at sunset and dawdling to get it back on. Great planning to make all in south Boulder scramble for sources of light before being swallowed in the Stygian gloom of a “planned” power outage for high wind just starting as the wind was was dying down.
