Global people person, cinema devotee, and caregiver to two cats with unreasonable expectations. Led by love, sustained by laughter, allergic to nonsense. Trying to be useful, stay curious, and leave the world a little gentler.
Of course. The president-rapist comes out on the side of the Cornell rapists and says nothing about the victim. I am so disgusted to live in this timeline.

I’m getting very conservative these days. And like all conservatives, I want to inflict my choices on others. I want to go back to the time when not one government-sponsored murder of a citizen by the death penalty occurred in the U.S. between June 1967 and January 1977—about nine and a half years.

Tennessee gave Christa Pike two lethal doses, then sent her to a hospital when she survived. Doctors must now care for the woman the state tried to kill. This grotesque collision of healing and killing makes me sick. No more executions in our name. Abolish the death penalty.

Mamdani in New York City and Newsom in California keep giving me hope. On opposite coasts, they’re showing what decent government can do: put people’s lives at the heart of policy, legislation, and budgets. Making life better should be the everyday work of government.

The death penalty makes me sick to my stomach. I refuse to accept state killing in my name. Human dignity cannot depend on innocence, and justice cannot mean execution. Abolish the death penalty now. Never bring it back.

What a brilliant opportunity it was for the entire UN to get up and leave the general assembly as Chump approached the podium. But only Cuba left.

If I were a RED voter, I’d make sure I lived in a BLUE state so whenever I voted for something offensive, cruel, or dangerous, I could count on my BLUE gov’t to protect me from the consequences and clean up the mess I helped create. Plus I could constantly moan about being a RED speck in a BLUE sea.

The test commonly used to flag early signs of dementia and NOT to measure intelligence, includes tasks like drawing a clock or distinguishing a camel from a lion. It is not a test of logic and reasoning skills typical of a real IQ test. It is called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. Thanks, Canada!

So he bans news media that report the realities of his Nazi regime. Those outlets sue, the court agrees he was in violation of the constitution, he appeals, the appeals court rules against his appeal. SCOTUS steps in and says the action is perfectly constitutional. Am I missing anything?

Why can’t we just “give in” to him and let him put his name on the building, then he can fix it. Then after it is fixed we renege on the agreement and take his name off the building? We get repairs and a bldg named after Kennedy.

Sadly, truth has ceased to be the most profitable product in the news business.

I ordered something online and paid for it to be shipped to me in the U.S.

While waiting for delivery, today I received a notice that I owe more money on my purchase due to the Orange Idiot’s new tariffs. The U.S. consumer is who is getting gouged here. No one else.

Ancient legend warned that when the Antichrist finally rose to power, the heavens themselves would darken: the sun swallowed whole, day turned to night, and a total eclipse would herald the beginning of the End Times. So anyway… anybody checked the sky lately?

I’m bitterly disappointed in Iran’s determination to follow through on its commitment to help Air Force One find aerodysfunctionality upon its exit from Türkiye. Especially since learning Piggy left Stephen Miller on board. Iran is a big tease.

What kompromat does Putin have that is so terrible that Piggy will obey every command? We know about the golden showers, the rape of underage girls and all number of disgusting behaviors. What we haven’t heard is that piggy is on video having gay sex. That’s the missing piece. Interracial gay porn,

My theory: Trump is too stupid to be Putin’s operative—he couldn’t follow the instructions. Putin just needs him distracted, enriching himself and staying out of Russia’s way while people who actually know what they’re doing exploit America’s divisions from within. The pee tape? Still my theory.

Mel Brooks once said that you can never get even with a truly evil man through rhetoric, but "if you can make people laugh at him, then you’re one up on him.”

He was referring to making fun of Adolph Hitler, but I think the Nazi leader in the U.S. could also be the object of the comment.

Composers such as Arnold Schoenberg, Kurt Weill, Paul Hindemith, Ernst Krenek, Hanns Eisler, and even the long-deceased Felix Mendelssohn were censored, banned, or denounced as creators of “degenerate music” by the Nazis. Authoritarian movements often seek to control culture as well as politics.

Behold the anti-Christ. We’re living through the Four (Gilded) Horsemen of Trump’s apocalypse. Pestilence: Measles, avian flu, polio. War: Ukraine, the Middle East, Sudan. Famine: Gaza and Sudan. Death: COVID, war, disease, famine, climate disasters. I hope the eschaton is quick and painless.

The number of anti-LGBTQ+ Republican politicians who later turn out to have engaged in same-sex relationships or behavior is astonishing. At some point you have to ask: is the rhetoric always about conviction, or is it sometimes about signaling to a political base?

I’m still stunned that the planet is burning, and while countries around the world are sending firefighters, aircraft, equipment, and aid to help one another, the United States is imposing higher tariffs on some of those same countries. I genuinely don’t understand how that’s in anyone’s interest.

I wish Ralph Nader had dropped out of the 2000 race. I was young and idealistic and voted for him when I should have voted for Al Gore, and I’ve regretted it ever since. In an election decided by 537 votes in Florida, it’s a decision I’d take back if I could. I’m sorry.

What I don’t understand about Trump/RFK Jr. is the incentive. If vaccine confidence drops, vaccine sales drop too. If preventable diseases return, who benefits? Insurers wouldn’t. Trump’s politics always seemed transactional. I just don’t see the transaction here. What am I missing?

Is the U.S. really not going to offer firefighting assistance to Europe and Canada? Really?
July 28, 2026 at 2:57 PM
What I can’t understand is why so many of Trump’s most loyal supporters are people struggling the most—financially, educationally, or with access to healthcare. If his policies hurt them, is racial resentment powerful enough to outweigh their own economic interests?
