A Kenyan man died of Ebola in Nairobi, arriving ill, after traveling from DRC via Kampala, passing screening undetected.

Screening isn't magic: most won't be febrile, and anyone who ticks "fine" and stays upright may just get through. Online/QR forms make it easier. So do strikes and understaffing

Kenya has reported its first case and death from Ebola in an individual who traveled to Kenya from the DRC. The ongoing outbreak in the DRC has killed 4000+ people and remains a threat for the region.

Had no idea how common dengue has become in Florida. Per the CDC, >1000 non-travel-associated US dengue cases in 2026, mostly Florida.

A guy I ran cross-country with in high school lost a teenage daughter to dengue last year. Can't believe this isn't big news.
