@nws.noaa.gov Miami has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the entire South Florida mainland from 9 am until 7 pm Monday.

This is due to a strong cold front that'll usher in breezy winds, way lower humidity and dew point values, and much cooler temps that could create a fire risk.

#FLwx
🚨 Fire Weather Watch issued February 22 at 1:43AM EST until February 23 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Miami FL 🚨

If you have to travel to Alligator Alley early this morning, BE AWARE.

Foggy conditions persist, with a medium to high chance of dense fog while traveling through Southwest Florida.

Any such fog should burn off by 9 am.

This is our best chance for some rainfall late tonight, overnight, and into tomorrow morning.

Even then, rain chances are very small, only 20-30%. Regardless, any rain we do get will help limit our ever-expanding drought, which continues to worsen.

We need some rain... and we're not getting enough of it.

We may get some rain Sunday night into Monday, and that may help. However, it won't be enough to end it all. Still, its better than trying to make our drought worse.

Miami has a new record low temperature for February 1st!

Today's low of 35°, observed at @iflymia.bsky.social, breaks a 117-year record for this date, previously 36° from 1909.

It hasn't been this cold in Miami and the South Florida mainland in 16 years(!!!)

Since the winds will be strong too, a Wind Advisory is also in effect from 2pm today until 7am Sunday.

@nws.noaa.gov Miami rarely posts seven days extenders but this one, you NEED to see.

We will see potential record warmth this weekend before TWO significant cold fronts will come through, first on Monday afternoon and then on Wednesday night. It will keep us cool all next week.

11:15pm ET

Showers will continue to linger across the mainland for the rest of the night.

It could make for a treacherous Wednesday morning commute but its also rain we desperately need since 100% of South Florida is now under a Moderate Drought.

1:50am ET

Rain remains isolated across Miami-Dade but has become more widespread across Broward County.

We could be seeing more of this throughout this week before our next (and much STRONGER) cold front arrives Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening.

For a drought-stricken South Florida, we did all right today.

This is for both Broward and Miami-Dade, though most of the activity fell on the latter.

Big winners?
Miami-Dade: Miami Shores at 1.40"
Broward: Hollywood at just over an inch.

We still got some lingering rain showers, mainly across Miami-Dade and the Upper and Middle Florida Keys.

This is part of one (weak) cold front after another (Thursday) after another (Sunday).

Speaking of that rain, its part of our first of THREE(!) cold fronts coming this week.

Rain comes now before the cold front sweeps in. It won't cool us THAT much, but the next one Thursday night-Friday WILL and drop our highs to only in the upper 60s all day Friday.

2:05am ET

Its been a while since we've seen rain on the radar.

After all, we're still in a drought so while this won't bust that, any amount will do.

We got rain across Broward and Northern Miami-Dade. We could still see some showers during the morning commute.

Tomorrow... it finally happens again. Temperatures in the 40s on New Year's Eve across the mainland.

Today was the last warm day. We will experience a strong cold front approaching later tonight into tomorrow, resulting in a much cooler New Year's Eve and Day ahead.

We're not even hitting 70 on the last day of 2025 and the first day of 2026 for many.

#FLwx

We have a SERIOUS cold front coming this week that'll dip our temps into the 50s at night, starting Tuesday night with some folks in the upper 40s Wednesday night into New Year's Day morning.

No, this is not an early April Fool's Day prank. This is real.
