Back in October, Rockstar Games fired 34 employees for alleged gross misconduct.

The severity of these firings could have spelled the end for a burgeoning union effort that was underway, but it didn't.

In fact, the union is now *bigger* than it's ever been before.

Started playing TS4 again and I love the dramatics in this game:

- Teen Sim met her sweetheart in highschool aaages ago
- After growing up they moved in together, got jobs and an apartment full of issues (classic)
- Once grown into full adults and married, they decided to have a Science Baby (1/2)

"But, two years since its launch, the site has around just 10% of X’s estimated global users."

This is presented as a failure. At 2yo, having 10% of the users of its biggest rival, which is 20yo, is a failure.

No tech is allowed to just be a success, it has to be a blockbuster or it doesn't count.
Bluesky was launched as a Twitter rival — but it's far less popular. Now it's eyeing Reddit for inspiration
"I think the public square is not the direction we want to go in...we're very inspired by companies like Reddit," Bluesky's Rose Wang told CNBC.

Also, I'd encourage people to NOT ENGAGE with them directly on any social media platform, and resist the temptation to latch onto the rage bait they drop EVERY SINGLE TIME A GAME IS ANNOUNCED. The cycle has to stop somehow, and until platforms start deprioritizing slop, we have to try to ignore it.
GG participants are a particular level of miserable. They tirelessly search, desperate to find a reason to be angry — a Rayman remake character’s boob size or a pride skin or a woman dev existing.

I really hate how common this is becoming. It's often very organized, too. A couple big youtube or reddit figureheads say what the terms are, and they will keep up the siege until the developers agree to make the game that THE CONSUMERS want, and nothing else.
Review bombing an exceptional game over a balancing patch that you don't agree with is some real entitled gamer energy. 😒

My work sometimes puts me in a position where I have to put "pressure" on people to finish things quicker due to higher up orders, and it feels so dehumanising even when you're being really nice about it, that I don't know how managers in game studios willingly crunch their employees.

everyone loses with this. At least I got to play TLOU and Horizon properly.

I'd be quite worried about Nixxes as well, imagine buying out a studio specialised in PC ports then doing this lol

A genuinely great looter-shooter that just keeps on growing and evolving. I highly recommend the Ultimate edition (£12/$14) which includes the latest expansion, which came out pretty recently.

The story is also so politically incoherent that it's a fun game to even try to guess what the point is.
