It frustrates me how many people don't recognize that the reason Macklemore's antisemitic costume in 2014 matters when discussing his defense of Palestine right now is that it exponentially increases the difficulty of convincing people who already doubt it that "Free Palestine" isn't antisemitic.

A cool thing about Losing Things When You Get Anxious Disorder is that sometimes the thing you lose is the medication that's supposed to stop you from coughing that would enable you to take the meds that stop you from being so anxious.

IDK guys, I thought Mariska Hargitay did a really good job hosting an Emmys that recognized that the show is about geeking out about TV and wearing a different outfit every act, as much as she could within the confines of what the network restricted.

The Macklemore situation would be significantly easier to discuss if he hadn't previously worn a prosthetic hooked nose to dress as a Jewish caricature on stage. I agree "free Palestine" is not antisemitic but maybe a better test case would be someone who never had to issue an apology for Jew face.

This key art is really interesting to me because just visually it solidifies something I've been thinking about for a while: the L&O revival prioritizes the people in charge (lieu/DA) while the original prioritized the detectives/ADA/EADA.

If the only thing you have to note about the rising tide of fascism is that we have to let it rise far enough to be over someone else's head in order to stop it, I don't think your strategy is particularly good.
