Every recipe app takes for granted that you already know what you have. That assumption is just not correct; we’re fixing it.

Do you really need more recipe recommendations — or do you need to a recipe that will use what you already bought?

We're building something for the moment you open the fridge, sigh, close it, and open it again hoping new food appeared. We’ve all done it!

We're building the solution for people who love cooking good food but hate the admin that comes with it.

Keep a running note on your phone of perishables that need to be used soon. Update it before you head to the grocery store, and refer to it when you’re deciding what to cook. #FoodWaste

The recipe serves 8. There are 2 of us. Do I:
A) Do the math and cross my fingers?
B) Eat this dish all week ?
C) Takeout.

Sometimes you’re ordering takeout not because you can't cook but because cooking requires seventeen small decisions and you've already made nine hundred today.

Our kind of quiet luxury is walking into your kitchen at 6pm and already knowing what you're making for dinner.

The perfect grocery-list app would do it the way you do it: Checking the recipe's ingredient list against what you already have in the house, and then only ordering the items that are missing.

The average household wastes roughly 30 percent of the food it buys. The problem is rarely too few recipes. It is too little visibility. #FoodWaste

Before adding a recipe to your collection, check whether you have at least half of the ingredients on hand. This one filter prevents most saved recipes from going uncooked. #MealPlanning

A hundred bookmarked recipes. An Instagram folder overflowing with dishes you swear you’re going to make someday. Anyone else have a cooking-inspiration graveyard scattered across the internet? Just us? 😅
September 24, 2026 at 3:37 PM
What if the problem with meal planning is not a lack of recipes, but a lack of visibility into what you already own?
September 23, 2026 at 3:37 PM
When was the last time you bought something at the grocery store that you later realized you already had at home?

Too many fresh chilies? If your garden is overflowing, there's an easy fix: Freeze them whole. When you need some heat, grab one straight from the freezer and chop it while it’s still frozen. Bonus: Frozen chilies are easier to slice thinly than fresh ones. 🌶️

Before your next grocery trip, take 30 seconds to photograph each shelf of your refrigerator. A quick visual reference prevents duplicate purchases. #MealPlanning

The next time you put groceries away, place new items behind older ones. This simple rotation makes it easier to use what you already have. #ZeroWaste

The question everyone asks is “What should I make for dinner?” The question they should be asking is: “What do I have?” The second question has to be answered first.

Invisible costs are the ones people have stopped noticing and stopped negotiating with. The inability to see what food you already have is one of the largest invisible costs in the kitchen.

How many recipes do you have saved that you have never actually cooked?
September 19, 2026 at 4:02 PM
Recipe apps have been building the decision layer on top of a missing inventory picture. That's not a shortcut — it’s a failure mode.

Something your cooking app might already know: You’ve got chicken.
Okay, but does your cooking app know…it’s frozen? That you need dinner by 6:30? You have half a bag of spinach that needs using?
Springhouse does. → Join the waitlist (link in bio).

The 7am push notification you actually need:
"Planning chicken tonight? Move it from the freezer to the fridge now."
See? Not all app notifications are useless.
