#ProgressUpdate: Crews are cutting sections of the old EB SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake into crane-sized pieces & lifting them out during this week’s closure to make room for our future traffic shift.

🚧 Don't forget! The eastbound SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. remains closed around the clock through 8 a.m. Saturday (9/19).

Entering eastbound SR 520 from I-5? You’ll continue across Lake Washington & pay the bridge toll.

JK. THE PAINT MAP IS BACK and Jimothy wants you to know there's a busy weekend ahead. Here's what happening:

-I-5 express lanes will CLOSE 11p Fri(9/11) to 5a Mon(9/14) across the Ship Canal Bridge
-The EB SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Blvd will CLOSE 4:30p Sat(9/12) to 8a Sat(9/19)

Heads up night owls! The Eastbound SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Blvd closes tonight (9/3), 10PM–6AM, as crews prep for the Sept. 12–19 closure.

Those who don’t want to cross/pay the SR 520 toll or need to reach Montlake from I-5 must use alternate routes.

My eye doc says I have bad depth perception, which makes me uniquely qualified to explain this photo.

That rebar cage is headed ~200 feet below Portage Bay. Filled with concrete, it’ll become part of the future westbound bridge’s foundation. 🤯

In this photo, a crane lowers what's known as a rebar cage inside a 12-foot diameter steel casing. Later, crews will pour concrete into the hole, forming one of the deep underground foundations for the future westbound Portage Bay Bridge. The two foundations shown in the photo each extend about 200 below the bottom of Portage Bay.

-NB I-405 will CLOSE in Kirkland btwn NE 70th Pl and NE 85th St from 11p Fri to 4a Mon
-SR 20 near Campbell Lake Rd remains reduced to one lane

Montlake Blvd (E Louisa - E Hamlin) and select 520 ramps + surrounding streets close at 10PM tonight and reopen 6AM on Monday (8/24).
