I’m not doing great after the AfD’s results in Saxony-Anhalt, so shortly after securing my German citizenship. Germany was supposed to be a parachute for me & now I feel stuck between a rock & a hard place. The whole world is veering into a dark place & I don’t rly have any clever commentary rn.

Finally finished Deng Xiaoping and the Transformation of China. Excellent book, truly fascinating recent history.

Deng was really living the Victoria 3 player fantasies with his four modernizations.

i've been thinking about old videogames lately standalone, solid pieces of fun no day one patch, a completed work you could come back to them like an old book there were also games i never got to for whatever reason ones just out of my reach or that i've never heard of i wound up learning about emulators and got myself a handheld retro console to play roms with i've been really enjoying this (sketches of a retroid pocket 5/G2 and an anbernic 406H, third-party handhelds that can run emulators)

Yesterday Mayor Mamdani endorsed a bill to force Amazon to employ its own delivery drivers, rather than outsource the work to subcontractors. The Prospect can report that Amazon's lead lobbyist on that bill is Chuck Schumer's daughter Jessica.
