MapLibre GL JS v6.10.0 is out. Markers now test terrain occlusion with a CPU ray walk over the DEM instead of a depth-buffer readback, dropping a GPU stall per marker while the map moves.

MapLibre GL JS v6.10.0 is out. Markers now test terrain occlusion with a CPU ray walk over the DEM instead of a depth-buffer readback, dropping a GPU stall per marker while the map moves.

LandSearch is a real estate marketplace for land with hundreds of thousands of listings. They switched from Mapbox to Stadia Maps and use our satellite imagery as listing photos for rural properties where photos don't exist.
We just shipped a visual overhaul of water rendering in Stamen Terrain. More consistent coastlines, better detail at low zoom, and somehow smaller tile sizes than before.
Before/after: Iceland, Norway, Scandinavia, Lake Ontario.

We just shipped a visual overhaul of water rendering in Stamen Terrain. More consistent coastlines, better detail at low zoom, and somehow smaller tile sizes than before.
