Graphic novels, particularly children's graphic novels, are basically beginning reader books. Look at "Piggy and Elephant", for example. A simple illustration book with dialog much like a comic book.
For older readers, it helps give a picture of what the scene entails in a story.

Oh boy. Okay. I am going to respond earnestly and genuinely, because I totally understand why this would seem like a contrary concept! Many librarians, educators, and guardians want to encourage their kids to read more, but don't see how graphic novels might help.
Let's talk about it!
Let's talk about it!
"We want to increasing reading by introducing more books with pictures."
Go ahead and tell me how I've got it all wrong.

Boosting since this will be even more important this year. Do NOT give money to anyone outside of the official channel, and report them if they try to sell them for more.
MAGFest hosts an official badge selling marketplace where you can get badges at face value from people who can no longer go! Keep an eye out over the next few weeks, especially after they're done with the hotel lottery

Maaaan, I was so glad I got my badge, especially since they had to postpone registration Wednesday due to server issues. I almost didn't get in yesterday, but, as I said, glad I got mine.
Y'all. We did know we would sell out eventually but we did NOT know we would sell out in less than 12 hours. We are currently SOLD OUT of badges. Please stay tuned into our social media accounts and newsletters for any and all updates we may have. We just need some rest. 🥲

The House voted to condemn “socialism” earlier this week.
Listen, I’ve been in and around politics for over 50 years. I grew up during McCarthyism and the “red Scare” of the 1950s. I’ve seen all of this fear-mongering before.
Here’s what’s really going on.

We have lived to see talents like Dolly, Tim, and Peter in our lives.
That is truly something to celebrate, celebrate their works, celebrate their lives, share their stories.
And live with their lessons. Hurt and grief is normal, but live.
