A lost soul, looking for a new life. Writer, percussionist, dad and worrier. Probably going to bang on about nature and stuff.

Nice to meet you.

Wonder if England can restrict the French to less than 70 points.

I'm not confident.

Just a thought, if you are depriving a population of clean water, that's a wicked thing. A dark, and probably overdramatic part of my brain, has connected water-refugees with the anti-refugee neo-con rhetoric and... Well, you don't want to know

Incredibly, a wholly fabricated report was published by The Telegrim, yet it would appear no-one was at fault.

Eurasian Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula): These magnificent 16cm (6in) finches feed their young insects during the breeding season, but the rest of the year they normally feed on seeds, fruit and buds. Fantastic photo taken by Roland Kuck in the UK. #bullfinch #bird #finch #wildlife #nature

Well, that's good news, isn't it. Well done to Hannah and the Green Party, it's an impressive result.

Blimey. The sun's out. Birds are singing and it feels like spring. All in all, that feels like a win.

Have a lovely day

Unexpectedly, it turns out that today will be my last taught session for my MA. I'm a little saddened by that but more worried for the inspirational staff who have been forced into strike action over the University's redundancy plans.

I managed to take a photo of a kingfisher today. Or, to be more accurate, I took a photo with a kingfisher in it.

It was a joy to see it, so I'll share my crummy snap with you to spread a little avian cheer.

It helps if you squint.
