Loved Patrick Stewart being in anything- TNG, Lifeforce, Dune, Green Room, etc - but it’s always this scene in TNG that I think of when I think of why I loved this man. The patience, empathy, kindness and ultimately fascination for interacting with a fellow sentient being.

Rest in Peace, Walter Koenig. I didn’t really know him but back on OG ZIM we were thrilled to discover he was our writers assistant Danielle Koenig’s father. He would come visit her sometimes and wait for her in our production lounge, attracting more and more Star Trek goblins from the crew.

Eric did a mean Morgan Freeman voice in Enter the FLORPUS and in 2016 he was Donatello in my TMNT short. RIP, Bauza. youtu.be/JQNZcBTOgt8?...

Whether or not an audience knows it, what they’re enjoying (IF they’re capable of joy) is the suffering. It’s the secret ingredient in anything of value.

Making an animated series is arduous work, often times it’s a miserable experience but the one thing that makes it all worth it is knowing I’m making a crew of actual, talented humans suffer and sometimes die by screaming orders at them. Take that away and what’s even the point??

They say you either die the hero, or live long enough to see cartoons with eyes the way you draw them.
