Former PM Jean Chrétien gave an amazing speech today in Gander, Newfoundland.

If you haven’t watched it, you should.

This man has aged like a fine wine.

These were identical trips, loaded via identical referrer URLs. The difference was that in the browser where Air Canada knew that I was an extremely loyal and prolific customer, they had whacked me with a *44.8% premium* to punish me for my loyalty!

Trump administration refuses international election monitors for first time in over 2 decades
The decision not to invite observers from the OSCE puts the U.S. alongside Russia and Belarus, while the Justice Department prepares to deploy its own poll monitors.

so sad - all the ruined lives - and all because of abject racism
remarkable piece of journalism. really worth reading.
A Haitian man legally immigrated to Ohio, then was given an ankle monitor bc Trump withdrew his status.

He threw himself in front of truck. The trucker, who voted for Trump, is haunted.

John Kennedy keeps asking Jack Smith questions about his wife. Smith repeatedly tells him he's not going to talk about his family.

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk:

How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.
Yet again, the Game UI Database is being scraped to the point that it's getting knocked offline. Even Cloudflare's "I'm under attack" mode isn't working.
I just wanted to create a resource for real designers. I'm getting so fucking sick of this.

Canada is not actually 'battling for survival' in the context of secession, because in both Alberta and Quebec secession has relatively small amounts of public support. What we're battling is dipshit far-right populist politicians enabling/pushing for this destructive bullshit.
Leaving Canada is effectively on the ballot in not one but two provinces: Alberta and Quebec.

It can seem like Canada is battling for survival on multiple fronts, apparently out of nowhere. But there is more to the story.

In May, I reported Alberta separatists were using an app developed by GOP operatives with ties to US ambassador Pete Hoekstra

@theglobeandmail.com now reports the same operatives flew to Calgary on a private jet for a secret meeting with separatist leaders:
