Was a firm believer that he would call it a day when this contract was up, as it lined up pretty well with the Canes' 'window' at the time. The contracts/development of guys like Stank, Blake and Miller have extended said window IMO, so who knows.

And I think that's great for the regular season! But with playoffs in spring + a legit contender, it feels like such a missed layup to not make it a much larger event.
Growing up, some core memories were at the big screen outside the Igloo during the 08/09 runs in PGH. It made lots of new fans too.

It's fascinating to me how the Hurricanes are approaching 150 consecutive sellouts but rank behind numerous minor league markets when it comes to watching the sport.
It's still a struggle to get bars to show Canes games by default. Not sure what the reasons are.

Shocked there isn't a sponsor lined up for it, and pls actually have the game on TVs and not ads like 90% of the monitors already around the concourses.

The whole Canes/Hart/McLeod saga was such an insane and preventable self-own. Even without these guys signing, you now have guys like Staal and RBA on the record sounding like jackasses when there was no reason to put them in that position to begin with.

A lot of people are forgetting that at least 50% of the people coming through the doors on a given night aren't online enough to know what happened in this scandal. The idea that a couple dozen people sending emails will change the team's mind is setting yourself up for disappointment.
FWIW, fans say this stuff a lot. Some probably will follow through, but the odds of it being enough to make it a consideration by the team are minimal, I’d say.
