Just QPing this for anybody interested in the Richard Montgomery, if only so you see this amazing image of the wreck.
So the regular reports on its condition are available online - the 2024 one has some stunningly detailed images. Once thing that likely informed the decision to take the masts off is that one section is slowly tilting and the forces will only go up.

This should be the moment people finally realise that Farage has turned them into fascists.
If you’re choosing this dangerous inhumanity over the rescue work of the RNLI, you’ve lost your minds to racism and hatred.

This is obviously such cowardly loser behavior but I do wish that if anyone ever tried to make me do a work task I wasn't into, I could just leave for several months while continuing to collect a salary.

All of this is a lie. Anyone who has visited recently knows the KC was not "in a virtual state of collapse," and anyone who can read a tax filing can see that it was not "losing hundreds of millions of dollars". In fact, its finances were pretty healthy UNTIL Trump trashified it.
Trump: "The Kennedy Center is in a virtual state of collapse, and has been for many years ... unfortunately, the Building is destined to doom. Isn’t that too bad?"

Shout-out to the brave motherfuckers chopping the collapsing, rusting masts off the SS Richard Montgomery on the bottom of the Thames between Southend and Sheerness today. If it goes badly, we're all going to very much know about it. Fascinating, also terrifying stuff youtu.be/R9u41aeItss?...

Just did a quick look around and I don't see very many headlines about the President of the US making people pledge allegiance to him personally while telling everyone to commit election fraud and "cheat like hell" to support his party.

Seems like it should be a story?
Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

I just think that risking your life at a moment's notice to save people you've never met in exchange for no money is a better expression of patriotism than dressing up like a Poundshop paramilitary and intimidating families with kids trying to get onto a ferry.

This was clearly not an act of spontaneity. Dozens and dozens of men travelling down, all wearing black, all wearing masks is anything but a spontaneous protest.

An infuriating response.

Let me get this right: if you're a retired vicar and peacefully hold up a sign opposing genocide, you're a terrorist.

But if 1200 morons put on balaclavas and close half of Dover to stop people *escaping* genocide, police "constructively engage."

Is that it?

“The problem is teens and young adults. From ages 15-19, the fertility rate is down 70% in the last 2 decades, which means we are telling people who are young not to have babies.”
