Candy Shop socks for my birthday. I made these in 2022, and they remain one of my favourite pairs.

I sometimes think of my favourite songs and I wonder if the people who originally sang them even still know them, or when they last sang them. Like, I sang M People's "Precious Pearl" to myself on the way to work this morning, but when did Heather Small last sing that song? 1995?

The worst song on "Ray of Light", Madonna's "Little Star" contains a major factual error. It claims that a butterfly flies "higher than all the birds in the sky". The highest a butterfly has been recorded flying is 20,000 ft. Ruppell's griffon vulture has been seen at 37,000 ft.

A major problem in Australian politics is the amount of attention given to Pauline Hanson, which is why I've decided to spend the entire afternoon, and indeed the rest of the week, talking about Pauline Hanson.

One of the disadvantages of living in an area with a high Muslim population is that none of the butchers sell pork, and I like pork.

One of the advantages is that Woolies stocks, but barely sells, prosciutto, so they've always got loads that's about to expire and is therefore heavily discounted.

Dinosaur trivia: there are currently more dinosaurs alive than were ever alive during the "age of the dinosaurs". Most dinosaur species that have ever existed are currently alive. There are more individuals of just one dinosaur species (the chicken) alive today than there were prehistoric dinosaurs.

I'd be fine with local residents being able to influence or even make decisions on planning and infrastructure, but only if the decisions related to localities they didn't live in. Let people in Penrith decide what the housing density should be in Woolhara. Leppington residents approve rail to Manly

"Only guide dogs and accredited assistance animals are allowed on trains and at stations"

What about people? 🤔

I figured this was obviously fake, but I checked and it's real.

It's also interesting (to me) that they've used the American spelling "mold".

Not suggesting that supporting PHON is good or reasonable or sensible, but lots of people responding to this failing to understand that it is possible for people of colour to have concerns and interests beyond racism.

This is an interesting one because "cutting corners" seems to be doing two jobs here that make the whole thing self-contradictory. Is the problem not spending any money on graphic design or is it not putting any effort into doing the graphic design?
An AI flyer is a brown M&M test. If your event or business is cutting corners by using an AI flyer, where else are you cutting corners? What else are you cheating out on? Why should I be bothered to go somewhere you couldn't be bothered to promote with a little of your own personality?

Instead of maths, schools should teach middle class kids how to deal with their own junk instead of dumping it into op shops, libraries and second-hand shops and calling it "donating".

So incredibly disappointing.

I'm glad I live in a place where I will be be able to access assisted dying if I ever need it, and I feel so horrid for the people whose suffering will continue to be needlessly extended.

Not sure why we're expected to pay attention to axed UK series 4 gladiator Amazon on topics such as trans rights and free school meals.

I always forget that the Statue of Liberty is green and I'm always amazed whenever I see or hear someone talk about it being green because it just doesn't look green to me (it's grey).
