Yes! Make your art the only way you are able to make it because you are the only one who can make it that way. The rest is the rest.
A handful of my fave stories I've read online in the last few months are stories I declined as submissions, and maybe they really leveled up in revisions, but also... art is so subjective, by audience, but also time and circumstance and any number of factors. It's part of what's so great about it.
