Nothing like getting to the bottom of a 3 hour quest and having the game crash.

Yay, I found a good deal on another Miru Tights bunny tapestry. I should have bought all three years ago when they were everywhere.

I'm torn... Do I go with "How's that different from any other day since you never enforce fares?" or "The only people who are ever hassled for fares are those who look like they're going to work." or "That's if the vehicle even arrives."

A bit of game flow - chance sign into a Reg Bonus. Reel harmonics are kinda loud but in line with a Takasago machine from 1998.

This game has a "sunset mode" that acts as a chance sign. The fluorescent tube over the reels shuts off and three wedge bulbs with rubber covers turn on, illuminating the reels with a soft amber light. It's a pretty cool effect for being so simple. Then when you hit, the tube turns back on.

With the exception of the lock bar and hinge, everything is cleaned, serviced, and back on the door...
What an undertaking this machine has been.

Look what I just picked up! It's one of the old FanimeCon street banners that used to hang downtown during the convention week. This thing is unbelievably big. I may give it away at our Vintage Anime panel.... maybe.

Should have posted this too. The door on this machine disassembles to a pile of parts, there's no "door" really. The side pieces are solid casings that everything screws to. The top and bottom assemblies (and the center where the controls are) are metal and build up the door structure.

Finally got the coin hopper completely torn down, cleaned, serviced, and reassembled. Everything on the cabinet side is now done but the entire door is still left to do. As an example of how dirty this machine was, second picture is a before and after of the coin platter retention spring.

So begins another two-year term. Would I have rather spent my Saturday as a day off from obligations? Of course! And my worksite may not always appreciate me, but that's just how it goes.

Worst pachislo hopper I've ever encountered, and that's saying something. This is the bottom plate. The dark areas here - thats ash. The clean rectangular spot had a PCB housing covering it, for comparison. I can only imagine how bad the inside bottom of the door is going to be.

Rebuilt the reel cage after work. I'd say it was a mid-PITA as pachislo reel assemblies go. At least it has supports on both sides of the tapes. Hopper will be next... then onto the entire door. I think I'm maybe 16 hours into this one so far...

This is why I don't drive. If you think I have a problem with buying cheap pachislo, I would be buying cheap del Sols every week. Then I'd have them all wrapped like Ridge Racer cars.

3 VTA cancelations for the first leg of the trip home from work today. Narrowly make my transfer (the two after are canceled), and of course its some rotted out antique coach.
