NYS people, NYPIRG has a call for comment on an issue important to the issue of data centers in NYS. The public comment window has been truncated, and we need to ask the DPS to extend it and hold public meetings about the issue. Here's the link:

We have time to choose a Dem candidate who won't throw a targeted minority under the bus for his campaign donors.

All of us have rights or none of us do. Let's remember that before we make Governor Haircut the lesser of two evils in 2028.
"Gov Gavin Newsom over the weekend vetoed legislation aimed at protecting providers of gender-affirming care from being extradited to face charges for doing so by another state."

He was "worried about constraints on the governor's power to approve extraditions".

Found a gravestone that definitely contains a trapped soul, and which comes to life at midnight in order to dispense grave warnings to anyone foolish enough to pass by at such a late hour.

Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson reflects on the mistakes Congress made when first creating the Department of Homeland Security after 9/11 and why it is time to fundamentally rethink the department’s structure on the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
Homeland Security 25 Years Later: Time to Rethink and Rebuild?
The DHS constructed by Congress in 2002 is now outdated, reviled by many, and was flawed from the start. Time to rethink and rebuild.

The Buffalo Bills announced that they will play both the American and Canadian national anthem for the first time at the Highmark Stadium opener.

They're definitely making a push to expand their fanbase in southern Ontario, and this shows unity as a border city. The Sabres have always done this.

A flyover...with a commercial airliner...escorted by fighter jets...on 9/11...

Who the hell thought any of this was a good idea, and why did nobody at the likely dozen or so planning meetings stop it?
I don't think a reenactment is really a good idea

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help.

For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes.

ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.
