I'm deeply ashamed of my profession. Its treatment of Jason Arday - right across the board - fills me with disgust and horror. The tormenting of a highly vulnerable man was seen as monetisable entertainment. This is a stain that won't wash off.

I remember watching this when it aired live in September, 1976, the Muppet Show's first season.

I didn't know who Rita Moreno was, only that she was amazing.

She won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program.

Happy Sunday Funday! 🥵

James Talarico: 50 years ago, a corporate lawyer named Lewis Powell circulated a memo around DC — a blueprint for how corporations could amass political power, reverse the gains of the Great Society and the New Deal, and rig the system for themselves.

And it worked.

Hornbills in India monogamous , mate for life. Live 35 -40 years in the wild, 50-70 years with human care. The female seals herself into a natural tree cavity seals it with mud leaving only a slit for the dedicated male to pass food to her and then the chicks for 3 Months until they can leave!

Music, change and people ❤️
In Italy, Charlotte de Witte threw a free 20,000-people rave in Genova. Organized by the City of Genoa and supported by Mayor Silvia Salis, who was also dancing backstage, the event is part of a wider campaign to bring music back into urban spaces. This is what your government could do for you.

The Trump administration has taken over full control of what appears on National Park Service websites. For decades, park staff managed their own sites, working closely with local communities and tribal nations to tell the stories of the places they know best. That’s over now.
