Linework and muted color mood. An assignment for Lea Pinto's VisDev class @underpaintacademy.bsky.social on experimenting with art direction. Somehow a bit sad looking like tumbleweed is going to start rolling by...

Prop sheet for my story, All Good Dogs. Regarding lesson 12 of the baseball guidebook, based on a semi-true story lol. I've been headbutted and had my leg chewed on while volunteering at the animal shelter. The incidents all seem like a good joke now lol.

Another prop page for my story, All Good Dogs. A warm pot of vegetable stew for hoomans, and doggie cookies featuring Leroy as the mascot. Leroy was a deaf dog who didn't get a happy ending at the animal shelter, but in my story, he is a celebrity superstar!

Rice bowl with green pea rice and noodle bowl with veggie udon. Prop page designed for my personal project, "All Good Dogs". These dogs are the ones I used to hang out with when I was a volunteer at an animal shelter. Love them dearly!

One more prop design from Yuhki Demers' VisDev class. After watching Yuhki’s demo, I dropped the linework and just painted.
Almost made it a poison fan but I chose pretty over violence. 🙂

Week 1 homework from VisDev Fundamentals with Mr. Yuhki Demers at Underpaint Academy. I have a spy story in my head, and I am using this class to flesh it out. This was really fun and a great learning experience.

Rough sketch ideas of a club / bar exterior. I stumbled on a sale at @underpaintacademy.bsky.social and decided to take a visdev class. Going to post more work in progress and stay open to feedback.

Animal safari children’s growth chart illustration.
My take on a little explorer and animal friends, showing how children can turn everyday moments into adventures with imagination.

Don’t laugh at my sketches, please.
I watched the lecture on Michelangelo recently. It opened my eyes to what real mastery looks like. The chisel and strength that goes into carving a statue. It was really inspiring but my little brain turned all that inspiration into drawing mice.

Justice – Tarot Card XI
Part of my illustrated tarot series reimagining classic archetypes. It takes courage to serve justice. Courage is something I needed a lot lately.

illustration of the Justice tarot card featuring a silver haired woman in ornate armor holding a large sword and shield. A falcon perches beside her, and the background is filled with mythical creatures, flowers, and swirling, dreamlike elements.

A tangled flowery deception. Poisonous venom behind a facade. J.B. Pritzker’s speech hit me, What’s the best way to spot an idiot? Look for the person who is cruel.
Kindness takes effort, empathy, compassion, and courage. When cruelty strikes, fight back.

#kindnessisstrength #illustrationart
A digital illustration of a woman with an Art Deco feel, surrounded by swirling flowers and vines. Her expression is calm, almost unreadable, as if she’s keeping a secret. The floral patterns flow around her, elegant but tangled, hinting at something more beneath the surface. A mix of beauty and deception.

One of the character ideas set in the 1920s. Hoping to capture at least some of the beautiful, fun spirit of the era. 💛

Vibrant illustration of a cheerful flapper girl dancing under dramatic stage lights. She is dressed in a sparkling teal dress adorned with intricate embroidery and glowing yellow fringe, complemented by yellow gloves, a beaded headband, and glittering heels. The background features bold black and green rays with glowing stars, framed in shimmering gold, capturing a lively Art Deco aesthetic. The signature 'Angie Tien' is visible in the bottom corner.
