I used to make video game and tech content as a day job, from 2007 to 2020. Now I do QGIS stuff, Ignition SCADA things and water loss reduction shenanigans. I also write books that aren't very good. And I'm trying to make a game about a duck. Also, I run.

I would like to thank the developers of the new Wolverine game for highlighting to everyone in very clear terms that quick-time events are a terrible substitute for actual gameplay and that no one should ever use them.

So, I take it that gaming mouse manufacturers just gave up, right? There's, like, nothing out there that's good these days for people who play more than FPS games, is there?

It's a few days late, but this is part 3 of my documentary. In this episode, I run in Bucharest and publish a horrifying picture from that time I died.

I have been searching for a nice vintage Fiat 500 poster and it's now impossible because the internet is flooded with retro graphic design posters and 10x as much genAI slop... die!!!

Saddened for the world to have lost two great people who brought joy to billions.

Dolly and Tim are and will remain legends.

I've been goofing off at work making a learner game before the duck one. After fiddling with a YAML plugin for Godot, I realized that I can just have the engine on my work computer somewhere and edit events in code.

Behold, the first screenshot of a game that'll be 3$ in a few months in itch.io.

There seems to be some discussion about spreadsheet people around here. Once, when I was really sick, I had a dream that I was a spreadsheet. It was terrible. I kept getting word values in date columns and it physically hurt, like jamming a rusty fork into my eyes.

I know how a spreadsheet feels.

Took me about 4 years but I finally finished Yakuka 2. So far it's the most "this could have been an e-mail" game of thr series. Stay tuned for when I finish Yakuza 3 in 2030.

This is my journey to complete a half-marathon race. Episode 1- Running is a gift. It's in Romanian, but YouTube Auto-subtitles are pretty good these days.

Manages to put together the first episode of a new series focused on running.

It'll probably go live tomorrow. Still have some effects to finalize.

Sharing it feels a bit uneasy.

A buddy of mine is releasing a game on Steam soon: store.steampowered.com/app/4769780/...

It's about exploring the plague ridden villages of Transylvania in the early 17th century, but with more supernatural elements than usual. Looks a bit like Mount&Blade mixed with Elder Scrolls.

Check a look.

Sad news people. They stopped using the giant trout to move the god Neptune around for the Navy day celebration. They uses a normal ship. Like a bunch of basic normies. Apologies to all who expected new photos of a grown man dressed in a bright blue dress riding around in a giant fish on the Danube.

23 years ago I only had CD1 of Final Fantasy 7 (ok, it was the broken cracked PC version that still checked for CD2). It took me 3 years to get the full game (a better cracked version).
The idea of everyone now waiting years between CDs of FF7 is amazing.

Again. I am prophecy.
Fwiw, Final Fantasy is one of the game franchises that does have a high physical sales split when compared to other AAA single player titles.

But if i say why i'll get a ton of hate lol
90% of Square Enix game sales now digital, as Final Fantasy faces a disc-less future https://www.notebookcheck.net/1364885.html #SquareEnix #FinalFantasy #PhysicalGames

Got a pair of new running shoes. Managed to set a new 5k personal best.
The shoes are just 50g lighter than the previous ones, but the difference is gigantic.

So, the national authority of land management got its systems hacked last month. Everything is down. So, we're all on high alert.

In turn, our IT service set a password policy of 8 characters... Maximum.

Long passwords are out of style i guess. Glad I'm not the NIS guy anymore.

I keep thinking about some of the lines in the film.
"Her only crime was that she was special"... and mentally violated people for fun.
"You're a murderer"... where as I just strapped a bomb to a tank, drove it through town, blew up buildings, shot people, threw people into traffic and off buildings
Man, am I glad that Obsession came out recently with a clear message about consent, because Marvel movies are really sticking to their 'making people do horrible things against their will isn't bad and the heroes will never call the perpetrator out on it' shtick.
