Please, please, do not use the IOS app to pledge to my Patreon. Patreon is the reason I can afford to update Mom's bathroom after her stroke and keep the house safe and livable for her. What Apple is doing is an overreach of OFFENSIVE proportions.
If you pledge to my patreon through the ios app you will pay an additional 30% fee (Apple's fee, they keep all that!) AND your pledge is held by Apple for 75 days. So if you pledge to me in March maybe I will get that money for rent in June.

SOREN: I am tired of lies. I am female. I was born that way. I have had those feelings, those longings, all of my life. It is not unnatural. I am not sick because I feel this way. I do not need to be helped. I do not need to be cured.

🔴 LIVE REPORTING - Justice for Joelle vigil, Leeds

So far roughly a dozen people have showed up to attend a vigil in memory of Joelle.

She was left to die of cancer due to doctors leaving her in the corridor for 16 days, not putting her in any ward for treatment.

outlawing 'our healthcare' is outlawing *us*, hard as that is for cis folks to process.

Anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric has reached the point where accusing Dems of being transgender (slurs encouraged!) is not only commonplace, but encouraged by the president — well into the 11th hour of the midterms.

So ... how did we get here? And what are Republicans really saying when they're doing this?
The transphobic political playbook is older than you think
Yes, there is precedent for how the president is going after Annie Andrews and James Talarico.

"...some women who did not “present in line with general societal expectations” could be subjected to questioning..."

A trans woman died because of this. I get why "this won't only affect trans people" needs to be considered, but I think we're past that as a primary talking point now
The equality assessment said some women who did not “present in line with general societal expectations” could be subjected to questioning in order to access single-sex wards 👇

The starkest thing about TNG compared to most space opera today is how much it presents the eruption of violence as a total catastrophe, rather than something awesome bsky.app/profile/norm...
Same. There was something that felt really radical about having a TV hero whose superpower was not just intelligence but thoughtfulness, and a kind of moral seriousness. Who showed from that first episode that you “win” by seeking to understand what seems like a threat.
I am so glad to have learned about the integrity of leadership from Patrick Stewart as a kid watching TNG. "What would Picard do?" feels like a fair guiding question.

Thank you, Patrick, for everything.

do not funnel your grief over this death into trek and x-men merch, paramount & disney dont need your money. go to plays, give to charities, vote for candidates who will fund public art, and you will make it possible for people like patrick stewart to exist and keep existing. a rising tide lifts all
If you want more Patrick Stewarts, then you publicly fund the arts and learning programs, so that working class kids can find their way into making a career in them.

There are so many great scenes I could point out where Sir Patrick Stewart was playing extraordinarily, but one of my most favorite scenes is him narrating Earth’s oldest known literature, the Gilgamesh Epos, in the TNG episode Darmok while the alien captain played by late Paul Winfield passed away.

You could literally hand Patrick Stewart a page of actual gibberish and he would make it sound like Shakespeare. The best to ever do it.

Another reason to be bummed about how TV shows are now eight episodes every two years. It was potent to have a patrician guy on screen once a week, 25 times a year, for most of a decade, solving hard problems by consulting with a team of scientists and diplomats on the most ethical approach.

Hey guys i have some EXTREMELY important appointments over the next three weeks that I absolutely cannot miss or reschedule as I have already been waiting months for or am in dire need of. Throne cards truly do help too! I cant express enough how grateful I am for the help so far!
Sadly I dont really have a break from constant appointments currently because my medical situation has gotten serious enough that doctors are suddenly very concerned. The best way to help is via a throne gift card or kofi. One ride is often $25

And fundamentally, enshrining womanhood as a reproductive duty to one's Nation *is* the bedrock of conservatism and the patriarchal regimes it instantiates. No feminism worth its name can afford to neglect the plight of those outside of this heterosexual contract, betrayed by those within it.
