New to bsky, trying to (re)connect with eco-evo folks. I'm an evolutionary ecologist who studies how rapid evolutionary dynamics shape community and ecosystem processes. My work integrates experimental evolution, population genetics, and community ecology, with an emphasis on biological invasions.

When organisms colonize new environments, they can experience release from previous parasites. Bolnick et al. use an experiment to track how this release leads to large fluctuations in infection rates, as well as immune evolution.

Introducing my 1st R package.

I built this to address common misunderstandings of linear models i often see in intro biostats students.

this is strongly paternalistic and aims to improve students' understanding of intro stats

Protecting our waters depends on good information, but valuable data are often scattered across orgs. In this pub, MAISRC researchers highlight an interesting solution: P.I. Charter, a web-based tool that brings decades of aquatic plant survey data together onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

Excited to share our new paper in which we test how competition alters adaptation at a warming range edge @science.org

We find that competition can increase adaptation to warming when there is a shared evolutionary response to both biotic and abiotic drivers of selection:

Competition enables rapid adaptation to a warming range edge in a model plant community
Most predictions of whether populations will adapt to warming range edges ignore species interactions. We experimentally tested whether range-edge populations can adapt to warming within a competitive...
