Update from the vet:

GC's post-op; had the bloods & an extra one done, poo sent for testing, general anaesthetic, x-rays of mouth, scaling, 3 teeth extracted.

We've had 875 pounds extracted😬
"No breakfast AND go to the vet's? You're joking."

Sorry GC, we're not.

Mme's spent half the night worrying. Still losing weight despite eating for Wales, up for multi-tooth extraction, plus more bloods, today and his issues make anaesthetic tricky🤞🤞

"A string of tower blocks known as purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), targeted at more affluent students, have run into financial difficulty [...] Now, some sit half empty, and several schemes have gone bust."

What a surprise. Who'd have predicted that?

Great.

Enforced meandering round town resulted in more shopping than intended, retail's fruitless searching & ad hoc lunching at Pho. As quietly competent and fresh flavoured as ever.

Photos taken after M NotLeafy mixed coriander & lime into his bowl & Mme'd stirred hers, messing up their pretty plating.

Just set up my seasonal decor in my front yard. I do a Día de los Muertos theme honoring the fur family we've lost. I added 2 more inflatables to the classics I already had.

Do any of my Canadian chums know of a decent, properly Canadian Rye whiskey I can use to make Manhattans?

It's not Daiquiri season for much longer...
Beware of ‘maple-washing’ at the liquor store.

Today's thing, went down an AI resource consumption rabbit hole.

"20 to 50 queries consume roughly 500mls of freshwater for cooling alone; at global scale, AI-attributable water withdrawal may approach 6.6 billion m³ annually by 2027."

That's equivalent to over half the UK's total water usage.
Wow

Vet visit with GC y'day.

Drat, he's lost more weight, despite the advised upping food trial (which he was very happy with).

So scared his ears wobbled but the vet & nurse's unhurried gentleness & lickable Creamy held to him by Mme got the bloods done with ease.

Waiting for results now🤞

Wonder if they've vacancies for tasters in their development kitchen?😋😋
