New in PN: The blackmail part out loud

"Trump immediately insisted he was 'only kidding.' But that too is a lie — he's already refused to pay promised funds for North Carolina’s relief, FEMA funds to blue states in the wake of disasters, and attempted to use blackmail to swing election results."

I mourned Lindsey Graham ten years ago. The one that just died wasn’t worthy of respect nor admiration.
Like so many others…He knew it was wrong, but kissed the ring for his own selfish ambitions.

GOOD NEWS! A personalized mRNA vaccine, known as mRNA-4157, has shown promise in keeping melanoma, a deadly skin cancer, from returning.

FIVE years later, NEARLY 70% of people in the vaccine group are CANCER-FREE. The vaccine also cut a person’s risk of the cancer metastasizing by NEARLY 60%.

If the vaccine is effective in a late-stage trial, it would be “paradigm-shifting,” one expert said.

Maybe if the conservative side had anyone worth hearing from or honoring, they’d have received a few invites. No school wants to bring in a speaker that has publicly stated that some of its students don’t deserve to express themselves or even exist in this country.

The ruling is even insulated from SCOTUS decisions, due to how state constitutions work.

Again, the tiny protests that were orchestrated by Fox News for its loyal viewers -- the NYT asserted it was a massive political shift that recentered the universe

Protests twenty to thirty times as large -- the NYT asks "yes, but what are numbers, really?"
Tea Party vs. No Kings in NYT. I read a thing recently about how the NYT was pushing back against critics, because they were tired of attacks. But have they tried maybe just writing a fair headline.

If the estimates were right, there were about 9 million people at No Kings rallies today.

That would mean this protest was THIRTY TIMES AS LARGE AS THE TEA PARTY PROTEST which we were told, over and over again, was a massively important sign that US politics had shifted dramatically to the right
Again, the first Tea Party rallies in April 2009 -- heavily promoted in advance by Fox News -- only had about 300,000 attendees across 750 cities, but the media treated it like the Second American Revolution.

There will be multiple *individual* No Kings rallies today that have more people at them.
There's a long, bad journalistic tradition: All conservative grass-roots political movements are fascinating heartland phenomena, all progressive grass-roots political movements are ineffectual bleating. This one is written off as powered by white female college grads--the wine-moms slur, basically.
