I am almost done with my second post on evil corporations.

And I must say, I let the corporations I talked about in this first one off the hook. This post is way too short and covers way too few sins for each of them.

Nestle alone deserves a 10k word article at minimum.
I did a bit of research on some massive corporations and made a list assigning each of them a few evil corporations from science fiction, yay!

It's like an award, except the award is shame. 🙂

Anyway, check it out. And subscribe if you like. It helps immensely. 🧡

I try to avoid updating apps, but if I do for whatever reason, I always brace myself because chances are pretty good at this point that the “update” will actively make the app/software worse.

I have a hard time finishing books now because the “newness” wears off quickly.

Might just be a general sign of my attention span eroding away as I brainrot on social media, but I get a new book, then read it halfway obsessively, and then one day I put it down and just don’t pick it up again.

Its not just the big things that are lost under authoritarian suppression but also the special small things that build & feed & sustain communities.
Agape Garden, a social enterprise that sells mostly home made baked goods that has been targeted by the government for their pro-democracy stance during the protests has announced that the government is demanding the store front back and will be forced to close in early December.

once AI spyware is everywhere they are going to make it so that the absence of AI is a luxury commodity mark my words.
Starbucks CEO says the company is planning to focus more on AI and tech, including a adding system that would recognize customers as they arrive in stores to "present personalized digital menus."

My perception of how long I've been playing a game is so incredibly fucked.

I seriously played Valheim for 450 hours and Cook, Serve, Delicious for 800??

I mean, I'm obsessed with both, but god damn, I'm really out here type-cooking food more than I am fighting monsters.

Oh, are AI haters becoming "unhinged" now? Does it seem like we're everywhere no matter what you do? Are we ruining being online for you? Are you feeling like you can't do anything without us making your experience worse? Is it like we can't be escaped even though you want nothing to do with us?

I made a ketchup packet. 🍅 🧶

I’m always happy to find unique Etsy patterns since a lot are variations of similar patterns.

This didn’t take as long as they usually do, and ima be honest, I particularly enjoyed this one.

Not sure what to name it. Maybe Squirt. 🧐

This country seriously would rather children be murdered en masse at school than be trans.

A single trans athlete competes in sports and hundreds of laws are introduced. Children are murdered on a daily basis and it's a fact of life.

THINK ABOUT THAT FFS.

I want to write another post on the SCP Foundation, but it's been so long since I've delved into it, and there's so many new posts and new stuff like disruption and risk class and clearance level.

If anyone has recommendations, I'd love some ideas.

After the Russian bot farms got bombed, not only has it been quieter, and there have been fewer obnoxious turds all over the place, but apparently ads are less invasive as well.

I saw a comment saying Pinterest ads have gone down to almost nothing. It’s TRUE!

Is there a correlation? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Every day, some new form of enshittification.

I know Pinterest has always had those obnoxious native ads that look like regular pins, but I don’t remember ever seeing giant fucking ads that take up half the screen. And a bunch of video ads.

AND constant pop up surveys asking which ads I’ve seen.

Apparently someone used AI to steal Adobe’s entire platform of software programs and offer them, a complete 1:1 mirror, completely free.

And then someone else decided to do this with the ENTIRE PS5 library.

And turning AI against the companies that exploit us with it is…a good use of AI?

You know a pet peeve of mine?

I keep seeing think pieces and videos, even from progressives, about how at some point AI will achieve sentience and be worthy of moral consideration.

We can't even give every human on this planet moral consideration.

Not this one, though. I’m a slut for this one.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

It is not healthy how viscerally angry pop-up ads make me.

Fuck you mean there are sticky ads on a restaurant's online menu? That take up half your phone screen and can't be X'd out of?

Get FUCKED.

Very accurate summary of the current state of the surveillance machine.
They can’t figure out who’s out here hanging Black people here in the U.S., but they can sure find protestors, ex-girlfriends, and shoplifters. 🥴
