Trans rights are being rolled back across the world. Under Labour we are witnessing the largest attack on trans, as well as human in general, rights for decades. The Supreme Court ruling has opened the door to trans individuals being excluded from public life. 1/

Kind of like NYC midnight? But just for fun with a script swap at the end?
Can even just be an outline/treatment.

on a visa route that is a *family* visa, where work is explicitly not a requirement of entry, except now you have to retrospectively summon up 2+ years of tax payments. the only word i can use that isn't massively obscene is "evil"
So just to reiterate, this is a policy where a British citizen making 500k+ a year can be told that their non-British wife cannot settle, because she is a net drain on society, because she had the absolute gall to stay home with a newborn, or look after a sick relative.

I hate this, it makes me so mad. Like under the current rules my wife wouldnt be allowed to come to the UK.

And luckily we've already done ILR, but I'm just offended that we are apparently not good enough now.

If you’re unsure whether to stay on X, it’s worth considering that what used to be Twitter was purchased by a white supremacist specifically to push the agenda of white supremacists & tweaks & fixes to its home-brew AI, Grok, are made to “correct” the AI when it does not also peddle white supremacy.

Today's essential reading.
For @motherjones.com x @thesicktimes.org, I dove into the challenges that people with Long Covid face when seeking accommodations under Trump 2.0, which has gotten increasingly hostile to disability and to recognizing that Covid is a problem. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

This is good news. Note that the IPO for FIRMUS (Australia) also crashed and burned on contact with something resembling reality, and that AI stocks in China have had around 40% of their value wiped off since June ($480B).

It makes Australia's 'lets give all our IP to AI' stance even more stupid.
Less than a month ago, OpenAI was looking to raise “at least” $30 billion at a valuation of $1.4 trillion.

Today it raised $11 billion at $1.25 trillion valuation and faced “tepid” interest from investors.

It is unclear what OpenAI does at this point. That’s not even a quarter’s compute.

I know we'll never get everyone to stop uploading others' writing without permission to Google Drive, so this is me asking them to at least limit Google's ability to scrape all those AO3 fics uploaded for AI training. They sometimes move this around, but you can find it!

This. One reason I keep rattling on about avoiding Covid and why it matters, is because that responsibility should not fall solely to those who have been disabled by it.
Honest to god if you think people disabled by Covid who talk about it are all clout chasing grifters a) I question your understanding of causality and b) why would you follow me??? At least be consistent!
