This is a powerful article. Infuriating how every time the trucker was trying to find empathy for Pierre and Haitians in general, his girlfriend and mom kept intervening with some racist logic or conspiracy.
A Haitian man legally immigrated to Ohio, then was given an ankle monitor bc Trump withdrew his status.

He threw himself in front of truck. The trucker, who voted for Trump, is haunted.

Overall it's pretty hard to endorse the current system where 90% of House seats are safe seats and relatively low turnout primaries (a total of, say, 70k votes) determine who serves in congress, sometimes for decades.

We’re told to limit our individual water usage during the summer.
Of course, we should do our own part but the impact is overwhelmed by the insatiable, gluttonous consumption of our water by data centers.
It’s BS. My colleagues need to pass our bills to save Virginia’s water from corporate greed.
