Léa Seydoux delivers a raw, fearless performance as a woman whose partner & father to her young son is arrested for exchanging explicit images of minors in drama ‘Gentle Monster’. Writer-director Marie Kreutzer’s execution is at once clearheaded & forthright but compelling & enigmatic.

Aimee Lou Wood & Johnny Flynn great as Anna & Fyodor Dostoevsky in The Idiot(s), set during self-imposed exile in Germany during writing of titular book. It's handsome, freewheeling, wacky fun with gleefully anachronistic touches. Feels glib on occasion though, meaning emotive end doesn't quite land

A Certain Ratio will be celebrating the anniversary of their classic and beloved albums 'Sextet' and 'Force' with a show at The Cluny on Tues 13 Oct! Emerging from the late 70s punk scene, they moved forward with gleeful disregard for the boundaries of genre.

Georgia 'Blue Jean' Oakley's disappointing adaptation of 'Sense & Sensibility reaches for tactile sensuality but feels disjointed & episodic. Performances variable, broadly delineated as female cast good / male cast not so good. Fiona Shaw is standout as bluff, gleefully inappropriate Mrs Jennings.
