Adrift in the Anthropocene
The James Tassie in Shawlands has closed down and there's a sign above it that says, "Run your own pub".

Bit passive-aggressive, eh?

Today's adventure was out to Braehead for the 'flu jag. They're still building ships on the Clyde. Type 26 frigates, unless I'm much mistaken. Hope they're never used in anger.

Took a wee wander around the Glasgow Necropolis today. Met lots of Victorians.

I wondered why my pedometer count was down compared to yesterday when I'd just gone for a 3-hour walk today. Then I realised that a large part of that had been spent in the Hunterian Art Gallery. I hadn't exactly been speed walking.

Possibly the only gallery named after a potential serial killer.

New phone, hence radio silence. Gradually getting around to signing back into everything.

All fuzzed up after yesterday's COVID vaccination. Also got a great big fuzzy cat tucked into me.

Today's a day for doing nothing

Today is Bandcamp Friday! For 24 hours, we waive our revenue share, so even more of every purchase goes to the artists and labels behind the music.

Go forth. The music is waiting: https://bit.ly/4gECRzG

Good grief! Not only the wrong eighty-year-old again, but this time it's even the wrong eighty-year-old from Home Alone 2.

Watched a bit of Jaws last night. I'd forgotten what a perfectly-paced film it was. I'd also forgotten how much Williams borrowed from Benjamin Britten.

I don't know if he's been officially confirmed as the new Scotland manager yet, but you have to type an awful lot of letters from his name into the Wikipedia search bar before his entry pops up. Generally not a good omen.

The Last House.

Yeah, you develop an interesting perspective on it when you haven't left the house for nearly a fortnight.

Great. *Now* the sky is clear.

Anyway, today will bring its own rewards. Win or lose, he's being consigned to the dustbin of history.

If you look to the skies this evening, it might be possible to see Count Binface's spaceship arriving over Clacton for tomorrow's by-election.

It has been suggested that you can use a colander to watch it safely. Just be careful not to strain your eyes.

Found season five of For All Mankind to be unbearably smug, but Star City is a delight.

Dunfermline have to either not win or beat St Mirren by 5 clear goals in order for Queen's Park to qualify for the knockout stages of the League Cup. I'm getting flashbacks to the World Cup.
